The
new Positouch Table Management feature is simply irresistible. In a major
redevelopment of the previous Table Status component, Table Management
takes guesswork out of the real-time management of a restaurant,
and puts the entire view of your floor on your point-of-sale computer
screen. This is just what the hospitality industry has been waiting for,
writes Charles Reiser, CC
Production's Project Manager.

Do better with insightful software
The new POSitouch
Table Management is just what every restaurant business needs to increase
efficiency, and ultimately, improve return on investment. When you use
this powerful new module, you will be looking at the exact digital representation
of your restaurant layout, the seating arrangements, and operational progress.
It allows the managers to anticipate server actions, view table status,
and direct operations on the screen with real time information. It allows
your hostess to remain out front greeting new customers without actually
walking around to see table status's. Positouch becomes your eyes on the
floor!
Among the powerful
features that make the table management component of Positouch a big hit
are the graphical user interface, the scrollable floor plans for multiple
rooms, floors, and other locations, the ability to use this graphical
view as the means of opening tables, and the inclusion of a Wait List
that allows capturing information about guests, party size, preferences,
and the like.
The backoffice program
of table management is used to design the layout of the floor. The design
tool allows placing the various tables onto a chosen background. Tables
are given various properties such as number of seats, default section
and preference code. The backoffice program is also used to create multiple
section layouts that can be put into effect at various meal periods. This
allows sections to vary in size and location at different times of the
day or days of the week.
By choosing the Table
Status button on the front screen, users see a graphical representation
of the restaurant, and the current floor plan. Each table provides information
in an easy-to-read, graphical interface, showing table number, current
status in the order of service, represented by the color indicators on
each table and one of the server name, dine time or section number. In
addition, POSitouch automatically updates the tables' progress based on
server actions throughout the dining experience.

Loaded with new features
The new Table Management software takes many of the features of the old
Table Status software and gives it an improved graphic interface. Both
versions of software include multiple pages allowing you to break up your
restaurant into separate areas represented on individual screens. While
the original Table Status software restricts you to a grid of six columns
by 11 rows, Advanced Table Management is completely flexible and allows
for any configuration of tables in your restaurant.
Other benefits include tracking, maintenance of wait lists, and
combining or merging of tables. Wait list and reservations are handled
from the Host screen, using the “Wait List” button. This allows
you to enter the customers name and the number in the party. There is
a preferences list you can create, with as many as 15 preference codes
such as, smoking, booster seat, window seat or booth. It asks for the
wait time you quoted your customer, so it can be compared to the actual
time it took to seat the party. If you use pagers to alert your customers
that their table is ready it can be linked to this section of the software.
Finally there is a place to fill in notes that might not be covered by
your preferences list.
